Power of Attorney
Power of Attorney is a legal document that lets you appoint a person that you trust to make decisions on your behalf if you’re unable to.

Why should I appoint a Power of Attorney?
Appointing a Power of Attorney gives you peace of mind that someone you trust will step in to legally act on your behalf, either in financial or welfare matters, should you become incapacitated (for example, through an illness or accident).
What’s the process of setting up a Power of Attorney?
There are two types of Power of Attorney:
-
A continuing power of attorney allows your attorney to manage your bank accounts, sell property, or make investments as you instruct them.
-
A welfare power of attorney gives your attorney the authority to make decisions about your medical care, living arrangements, or daily routine if you become unable to do so yourself.
Once you know what type/s of Power of Attorney you want to set up, it’s vital you discuss this with your chosen attorney. You can then instruct us to draft the document and get it certified and legally registered.
