But we have many years of experience helping people deal with the responsibilities of executors, and we’re here to help.

What are the responsibilities of the executor of an estate?
Each estate is different and the responsibilities of executors can vary, but often include locating and valuing the assets (property, money, and possessions) of the deceased, settling debts and taxes, and dividing the remaining assets according to the deceased's will. As executor, you’ve been trusted to follow a person’s last wishes.
What’s the process?
Executing a will in Scotland involves several steps, including gathering legal documents, identifying and paying all outstanding debts and overseeing the distribution of assets in line with their wishes. You’ll need to keep detailed records and may be required to deal with any disputes.
